Ecological Education in EKO-School - is a program implemented by the Commune of Starachowice as part of the "Action Plan for Cities. Model locality”, an initiative accompanying the 11th session of the World Urban Forum. The Mayor of Starachowice, Marek Materek, talked about the details of the project during the conference "Urban October - Heritage of WUF11", which took place on Monday at the Ministry of Development Funds and Regional Policy.

The Mayor of Starachowice was the guest of the first panel: "Action Plan for Cities - Model Locality - the commitment of Polish cities to implement the Sustainable Development Goals".

The EKO-Szkoły project is in line with the assumptions of the ecological policy of Starachowice in the field of education and activities for climate protection. The concept of a model school, applying modern ecological solutions, aimed at raising the ecological awareness of young people and residents, had to be preceded by several activities, e.g. diagnosis and social consultations. This allowed the project to meet the expectations of the residents.
