The day support facility has been operating in the Wzgórze Housing Estate since July 2022. It is open from Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The facility is used by 30 people - children and adolescents aged 6 to 16.
The offer of the Social Activity Center at the Wzgórze Housing Estate in Starachowice is implemented as part of the project entitled "Direction for the Future - Starachowice Local Development Program", financed by Norway under the Norwegian Financial Mechanism for 2014-2021 (85%) and the state budget (15%).
The facility conducts classes according to the annual work plan of the common room, covering many educational, pedagogical and care aspects. Students spend their free time under the supervision of educators and have the opportunity to develop their interests.
During the school year, educational classes in mathematics, Polish and English are conducted. Children are very eager to participate in the classes, improve their knowledge of school subjects, catch up on missed assignments, and get help with their homework.
By the end of May 2023, 93 hours were completed in English, 100 hours each in Polish and mathematics. On average, 75% of all students took part in educational activities at the facility.
Youth also take part in group activities developing creativity, soft skills - creative thinking training - 28 hours were completed.
The classes with the so-called OSL animator were very popular. games without electricity. The classes were held regularly, children learned about various board games, spent time together, integrated and learned healthy competition.
Children and teenagers take part in sports activities, there were field games, football, ping pong, and dance classes. During classes at the facility, they do a lot of art work - special occasion decorations for Christmas, Easter, November 1, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Grandparents' Day, etc.
The project included active holidays during which classes with animators, scientific experiments, culinary classes, trips to the cinema and bowling took place.
The Social Activity Center also provides support for commune residents as part of the Crisis Intervention Point. Adults can benefit from the support of a career advisor, financial advisor, psychologist or family advisor.
From July to May 2023, 169 hours of financial advisory support, 174 hours of a career advisor, 152 hours of a family advisor and 298 hours of psychologist support were provided.
