One of the elements of the implementation of the pilot ecological education program is the construction of a community garden. Seniors - students of the University of the Third Age in Starachowice, project partners - were strongly involved in this task.
What is important to emphasize, however, is that the activities are of intergenerational cooperation, because Starachowice seniors can count on the help of a group of young people from the Vocational School Complex No. 1 - students of the class with the "landscape architecture technician" profile.
Thanks to the joint effort of the residents, they have already managed to plant herbs and flowers in boxes and designate places for new seedlings, in accordance with the development plan for the plot at ul. Gliniana.
The task is implemented as part of the project "Direction for the Future - Starachowice Local Development Program", financed by the Norwegian Financial Mechanism for 2014-2021 (85%) and the state budget (15%).
